Charity Sewing for Kids

PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Doll Day Fashion Fun Sew-In
Parkville, MD – Aug. 27, 2012

It’s not only the Emperor, but the dolls – they have no clothes.  “They’re (s)naked,” lamented Amiyah.  We need your help to dress them up for The Clarence W. Blount Child Development Center

It’s National Sewing Month, and you can learn to sew while dressing Isabella, Patrick, Amari, and their friends.   Does your teen or girl scout (9 and older) need some community service hours?  Come to our doll clothes party.

Learn to sew and help put a smile on the faces of these children.  Join us at the Sassy SEWer Sewing Lounge on Sunday, September 9th,  3pm - 6pm, to sew 18” doll clothes for the Blount Child Development Center. Experienced seamstresses also welcomed.
The public is invited to this free event, but RSVPs are required to thesassysewer@gmail.com.

The Clarence W. Blount Child Development Center is a licensed daycare center serving staff and BCCC students with children who are attending college.  Training and workshops are also provided to the community. CWB works with state and local child care agencies to provide an affordable and safe environment for many at-risk children.

The Sassy SEWer is a unique enterprise where sewers and crafters meet.  Sewing machines, sewing equipment and studio space are available for rent.  The Sassy SEWer offers private and group sewing lessons and assistance to sewers of any skill level.  http://sassysewer.com/
